Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE) also affected by volcanic ash cloud

From Monday, 19 April until Saturday, 24 April SBE’s first International Case Competition – ICC@M – takes place. A case competition is an academic event during which student teams compete against each other by solving a real business problem within a short period of time.  Over the past few days sixteen student teams from top universities all over the world were expected to arrive to compete in this case competition. Unfortunately the eruption of one of Iceland’s volcanoes threw a spanner in the works, and up until now only six teams managed to make it to Maastricht. As a result the organisation decided to slightly change the format of the event: the first two days of the competition will not count towards the final score. The teams from Brazil and Portugal were able to re-schedule their flights for Wednesday, so unless the airspace closes again they will hopefully still make it and be able to compete for a place in the final round on Saturday!
